Severe WeatherGuardian Privacy Policy

Severe WeatherGuardian does not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or sell personal data.

For saved-place monitoring, the service stores an app-generated install identifier, precise saved-place names or coordinates, selected alert preferences, APNs device tokens, and App Store subscription entitlement metadata.

Ownership credential secrets stay in this device's Keychain. The service stores only keyed verifiers and pseudonymous ownership records. Signed StoreKit transaction identifiers and entitlement events are retained to apply renewals, expirations, refunds, and revocation reversals safely.

Weather data is retrieved from public weather services including NOAA, the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center, the Weather Prediction Center, the National Hurricane Center, and related official products when available. A requested place or coordinate may be sent to those providers to return the weather result.

Push alerts are best-effort and are not a replacement for NOAA Weather Radio, Wireless Emergency Alerts, emergency services, or instructions from public safety officials.

You can request deletion of server-side Severe WeatherGuardian data from the app Settings screen. Deletion removes the principal's saved places, delivery tokens, credentials, and entitlement records. Apart from the minimal Advanced AI trial record described below, the service retains only keyed, non-readable deletion tombstones and identifier-free security audit records needed to prevent deleted data from being recreated by a replayed request.

WeatherGuardian AI is optional. Microphone access begins when you tap Talk or ask Siri to start a configured WeatherGuardian conversation; Siri activation starts listening after Siri finishes speaking. Hands-free listening operates while the app is in the foreground and pauses during device speech. Pause stops listening until you tap Talk, and End closes and clears the chat.

Optional Advanced AI uses Apple Private Cloud Compute for weather conversations. Microphone audio is transcribed on the device; chat messages, speech transcripts, relevant weather context, and screenshots of the visible WeatherGuardian window go directly to Apple to answer requests. PCC request data is not stored or accessible to Apple staff. WeatherGuardian developers do not collect chats. Conversations remain in app memory until ended; screenshots remain in memory, are not saved, and are never captured in the background.

The five-reply Advanced AI preview uses a pseudonymous App Store account identifier, reply counts, and Apple DeviceCheck and App Attest verification. Remaining replies can be restored with the same App Store account. The minimal trial eligibility and usage record and Apple’s device participation flag remain after deleting registration or reinstalling, to prevent repeated free trials. No chats, audio, screenshots, or weather locations are stored in the trial ledger.

Production request logs omit query strings and direct customer or device identifiers and are retained on a limited rotation.
