Severe-weather outlooks

Understand what the risk level means.

Official outlooks from the Storm Prediction Center summarize the risk with labels such as Slight or Enhanced. You can also check the available chances of tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds for that day.

Ask either AI mode for the risk at a place. With Advanced AI, you can follow up with “What are the main threats?” or “What does that percentage mean?” to learn more.

Flash flooding & fire weather

Know what may develop.

The Weather Prediction Center’s rainfall outlooks help you assess flash-flood risk. Their percentages show the chance of rainfall exceeding the local flash-flood threshold within 25 miles of a point. That threshold is an estimate of how much rain could cause flash flooding. An outlook is a forecast, not an active flash-flood warning.

Fire-weather outlooks from the Storm Prediction Center highlight forecast conditions that could help fires start or spread. For reported fires, open Wildfire Tracker. Always check which day an outlook covers and when it expires.
